CMC Video Spotlights Elsie Allen HS Drama Dept

CMC’s Education Production Specialist, Isaac Lefkowitz, recently produced a video spot-lighting the Elsie Allen High School Drama Department. The video tells an exciting story about how the Elsie Allen High School Drama Department, under the direction of Rob Burt, was one of 75 high schools selected from over 2,000 nominees to perform as a part of the American High School Theatre Festival at the 2011 Fringe Festival.

The Fringe Festival is held every August in Edinburgh, Scotland and includes over 2000 different performances by artists from all over the world. The Elsie Allen High School Drama Department is currently fundraising to participate in the festival. For more info, contact their Drama Di-rector at (707)528-5489 or rburt [at] srcs.k12.ca.us.

Santa Rosa Downtown Market

Community Members give CMC channel identifiers. On June 9, CMC was found at the Santa Rosa Downtown Market.  As part of the exciting outreach to the local community, we collected channel identifiers, coming soon to OurChannel 30.  We met many new faces and said hello to some we already know.  This also gave us a great opportunity to let people know about our new name: Community Media Center of the North Bay!

Thanks to all who came out!  Hope to see you the next time: August 4!! And contribute a channel id!!

New CMC Fee Structure

Our board of directors recently approved a change to our bylaws that defined the area that CMC serves as Sonoma County and adjacent regions. To accommodate members from these new areas while acknowledging the many years of financial support that CMC has received from the City of Santa Rosa we are establishing a tiered fee structure for membership, effective February 1, 2010.

Beginning March 1, 2010 CMC members who are Santa Rosa residents will find that our membership renewal fees will increase.

Click here for the new detailed fee structure.

CMC now a Regional Center

At this same January meeting the board approved an amendment to the organization's bylaws that opens our reach to communities beyond Santa Rosa.   Many months in the works, this change now allows residents from other communities to join as members. And the board also approved a change to our name to reflect our new regional status.  We will now be known as the Community Media Center of the North Bay!
